G’day and welcome to Footytalk.com.au.

The World’s First Australian Rules Football Podcast.

Welcome to the 2011 Season.

As we begin our 7th Season of Footytalk podcasts, we look back with a certain amount of introspection on what we have managed to achieve.

We have brought you a lot of good times and bad, and we will continue to do so in 2011 however we will also try to experiment more with different items and products that we hope you will get something out of.

Footytalk.com.au exists for you, and we hope that you continue to get something out of our rantings and opinions.

Since beginning in 2005, we have grown to become the Voice of The People – a fan’s perspective on the real events both within and behind the game of Australian Rules Footy.

Rather than the version of the game that the mainstream medja purports, The Explosion and his team of armchair experts bring you an informative and unsanitised look at the game.

GRAND FINAL WEEK.  2011.

So it is finally done.

The great and mighty Cooooooolllllliiiiiiinnnngggggggwwwwwooooooodddddd  has been beaten.  No one strutting around in a gold jacket, no Maguire pumping up himself and his coaching transition and no Melbourne town rocking to the dreaded tune of “Goodbye Dolly Gray”.

Instead we are on the precipice of one of the greatest teams of all time.  Geelong richly deserved its victory on Saturday and there are a plethora of Carlton and Essendon supporters who are just as happy as those at the newly named Simmonds Stadium.

Congratulations to Geelong.  Well done!

UPDATE: – Check out out latest round of the Video Explosive Rants. Much more to come in the following weeks.

In continuing with our cool, crisp look, Footytalk.com.au continues to bring you an inside look at each week’s games, the Medja, our Boy of the Year, and Footy Tipping. The Reality Ladder makes another comeback after further permutations and combinations have been installed into the algorithms and and we hope to provide some special activities throughout the year.

For those who have queried our Supercoach and Dreamteam Leagues for 2011, we will not be contiuing with these so that we can provide more quality information to you in a different format and give the crowd what they love to read and hear about.

Thanks also to our regular presenters from 2010 – especially to The Rookie, Bear, Signs, Theo G and D.J along with old stagers in Z, Polly, Work Experience Boy, Moose, and Auction.

I would like to pass on a special thanks to everyone who joined in the fun and frivolity during my travels as I would not have been able to continue the quality correspondence on the way the game is being run without you. To the following people: - The Watcher and Dr. Loch (our oldest AND youngest presenters on the one show, The Dogman of Alcatraz (who let the Dog out), Bluey (at least one intelligent Red Head around) , Red Hot (our honourred first female presenter), Le Ferrey (nuggety Sydney-based back pocket ferret), CFC Dan (obviously a proud Carlton Football Club supporter now), and Sticky Wicket (aka Odgi) as well as our regulars in Z, Polly, Work Experience Boy, Moose, and Auction.

Without you all, we would not have been able to bring Footytalk to the masses during my absence from Melbourne and I have to pass on a sincere and very heartfelt thank you to you all. I look forward to catching up with you all in person again during my interstate ventures during 2011.
