AFL Season 2010. Show 2
The season has finally started. Footy is officially back. After a long summer of cricket, golf and an ordinary practice match schedule, we welcome WEB back to the mic to rant and rave about our pet hates including Fevalio, NUTS Riewoldt, Hawthorn and the AFL in general.
It’s fantastic to be able to bring you Footytalk again into our 6th year.

Explosion, the Hawks are a member owned club! The board can do as many secret deals as they like, but they have to get the members to sign it off. The club will have enough issue when they move the GC17/GWS18 game down there let alone the whole club!
If you have heard Jeff talk, he said that he doesn’t think Tassie want a failed club. And as the Hawks are the most financial in the comp (or near enough to it). I am not at all worried (although, I guess I am still taking your bait)!
I will take it under advisement Moles, in relation to the current Tasmanian Election since i personally haven’t followed in much depth All I will say is that WEB has not let me down much with his research, and if you think that a change of Government in Tassie is not going to have far-reaching effects on it’s sponsorship of Hawthorn in the long-term, then you are kidding yourself.
And if Tassie is going to host a team in the long-term as a stand alone AFL side, then Hawthorn is in the box seat. Tasmania will either continue to splurge money into the Hawks coffers as an eventual Tassie side, or the sponsorship money for Hawthorn will dry up completely. One or the other will happen within 10 years – most likely sooner.
My question would be – and this a question that you as a Hawks supporter and every other supporter of the bornw and gold must ask – is whether a private deal has been done behind the scenes for Hawthorn to relocate to Launceston. That is more of an important question to delve into before anyone asks about Gary Ablett again.
As for picking up young Moles, believe me, it was considered, but we had to follow due diligence in trying to maintain contact with the other states.
Harwood will be a good get – not as good as Bartram but certain better than He Who Shall Not Be Named because at this stage, he hasn’t shown he is a cheat.
Damm, The last comment was meant to be about Footytalk boy of the year, not Footytalk Boys!
By the way, on Footytalk boys, can I suggest, to honor my long time support of the show, you pick up a boy playing in Melbourne for the Bullies, Brodie Moles! (joking of course)!
Good show guys. And I really hope the hawks can beat the Cats so we can get a public apology from the Work experience boy!
Okay, lets look at the Tassie issue with the hawks (and show facts which Footytalk.com.au isn’t use too):
1) You said Liberals voting themselves into opposition. Well Actually, Labour said before the election that they would support the liberals before working with the Greens
2) The greens have said that they just want to stop the sponsorship part of the deal and some of the other things like signage and pourage. Would mean 1 or 2 million
3) Hawks (of course) are in the top 6 for members in the league and have members across the country. Have one of the most marketball players in the league. If the hawks can’t get a 1 million dollar sponsorship deal, there are alot of teams in trouble.
4) The hawks were in the top 3 or 4 profitable clubs in the league. Have one of the best balance sheets. Best outside of footy revenue streams, etc, etc. I don’t think there in financial trouble!
So we know you hate the Hawks but you should keep it a little bit accurate!
