To achieve a mollican of this, the AFL and the Irish have bastardised their respective local sports (which really is just an end of year booze up) to try and emulate playing for your country. Pathetic really. it doesn't make soccer/football any better than AFL, it just provides a level of competition that localised football codes like AFL, American NFL, Gaelic, etc, don't allow for.
